Abortion Pill: I.e, Mifepristone and Misoprostol
The abortion pill involves the use of two separate medications, namely Mifepristone and misoprostol. These pills work together to accomplish the abortion process. These medications are used for early pregnancy termination for example pregnancy under 10 weeks. These pills work as follows.
Mifepristone works by blocking the progesterone hormone that is vital for pregnancy to grow. After blocking the hormone, misoprostol is taken and this works by causing the uterus to contract which leads to cramping and bleeding hence the pregnancy being expelled out.
